Synthesizer V Studio 2 has four usage modes ー Standalone, Instrument Plugin, ARA Bridge Mode, and Full ARA Mode.
You can synchronize the plugin's playback position and tempo with your DAW, as long as it's configured correctly. If you’re a beginner who wants to use it with a DAW, we recommend starting with ARA Bridge Mode. This mode enhances integration between the Instrument plugin and your DAW by using an ARA plugin as a bridge.
- If you're using FL Studio, no special setup is required. Thanks to our collaboration with Image-Line, playback position and tempo will automatically synchronize simply by inserting the plugin—without using ARA. However, please note that time signatures are not synchronized, so you’ll need to set them manually. Reviewing this video will also be helpful.
- If you're using Logic Pro on an Apple Silicon device, ARA Bridge Mode requires that you launch Logic Pro in Rosetta Mode. This is due to a specification on Logic Pro's side.
- If your DAW does not support ARA2, ARA Bridge Mode cannot be used, so you'll need to use the Instrument plugin alone. Due to VST/AU/AAX specifications, plugins cannot control DAW playback, so when you press the plugin’s play button, only the plugin’s audio will play. However, the plugin will follow playback when the DAW is playing. Additionally, the plugin cannot detect tempo changes within the DAW, so neither tempo nor time signature changes occur automatically. Therefore, if your project includes any tempo or time signature changes, please enter them manually in the plugin’s Tempo/Signature lanes.
ARA Bridge Mode can be used with any DAW that supports ARA2, but the following DAWs have been specifically tested and verified for compatibility: Studio One, Cubase, REAPER, Cakewalk, ABILITY, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools.
Here, you can learn how to use the Instrument plugin :
